Well, Travelling for most people is for a vacation. As far as I am concerned, the preparation before the actual vacation tires me out. Anyways, the husband and I are great fans of local stuff.. local produce, local wine. Hence we try to plan our vacations around the in and around California. Here's some of the places we visited during the year after we got married
One of the places I visited and was awestruck beyond belief was the Grand Canyon. Everybody knows the Grand
Canyon. I have seen the place in pictures, but to actually see it with my own eyes was just so beautiful. We had been
driving the entire night, and we reached the south rim for the sunrise. As the first rays of sun started coming out, I
could the rocks and the beautiful formations more clearly. It definitely was exquisite. Grand Canyon is a haven for
many kinds of people. Photographers both amateur and professional, nature lovers, and people like us, who just want
to look around. Here is a picture we took during the sunrise. You can have a look at the activites tabulated
After the sunrise, we just ended up going on one of the numerous hikes available there. Again, the views were just
so beautiful; I cannot think of any words or pictures can describe it! We stayed overnight at this place called Cameron
Trading Post. It was this place in the middle of nowhere. But just awesome! You can check out that Hotel here
They do have a good Gift shop where you shop for cool knick knacks and take home gifts for friends. Our trip ended
with the some more breathtaking views of the canyon from the North rim. We did then drive on to Las Vegas and
spent a day relaxing at the casinos. Nothing spectacular about the casino though. Grand Canyon, however cliched
this sounds, is definitely a must see place for everyone.
Here is the stuff we did during the four day trip
| DAY | ACTIVITY |
|---|---|
| Day 1 | 13 hour drive to South rim from Sunnyvale to catch the sunrise |
| Day 2 | Hike in South Rim |
| Day 3 | Drive down to North Rim, some more hikes and begin drive to Vegas |
